Creation 101

           Actually, my musical interest continued to increase followed by middle school through to College. When I attended Howard University, I was privileged to have performed with Donald Byrd and the Black Byrd's. I played light percussion on the Black Byrd's first and second albums. Walking in Rhythm was a hit in which impelled the band to tour. The band performed Donald Byrd's songs and songs from the Black Byrd's songs on those gigs.

          During that time my listening expanded rapidly. I began listening intently to John Coltrane, Miles Davis , Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Jack DeJohnette, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Billy Harper, Lee Morgan, Charles Lloyd and so many other progressive musicians. I also loved the Rhythm and Blues genre too. I also played in several funk bands and loving it.
